“Interior Design is a very personalised occupation - essentially as your Designer, I need to get in your head and understand literally how you function on a day-to-day basis to ensure your residential or commercial space will deliver exactly what you need it to. We need to quickly establish trust and mutual respect through frank discussions and complete transparency. So in short - we need to like one another, trust one another, and enjoy working together.
Having been a property developer before I studied Interior Design, ensures I have an invaluable 3-dimensional understanding of projects. This means I understand the intricacies of the functionality you don’t see in the planning phase, or onsite checking behind the walls for location of pipes and power points. Constantly problem solving whilst also keeping costs down, and thinking through positioning of services. For example: reinforcing of walls during the construction phase so your artwork can be hung where you want without it being obstructed by services within walls.
